Plans, organizes and monitors work flow. Appraises job results through coaching, counseling and discipline. Enforces and adheres to systems, policies, and procedures.
ESSENTIAL
DUTIES and
RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned. Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments. Plans the layout of the shipping and receiving areas considering area needed for the staging of outgoing shipments, holding of material for inspection, and other related factors. Assists in determining routings and legal load limits considering established schedules and legal weight laws in each state. Directs the movement of materials from the shipping and/or receiving areas to the warehouse, assembly areas or shipping containers. Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites the workflow. Determines priorities and assigns personnel as required. Studies procedures and recommends changes to improve efficiency. Assures all shipping papers are complete and accurate before sending it to Production Control. Assigns daily work duties and examines completed assignments for accuracy, neatness, and conformance to Company policies and procedures. Issues written and oral instructions of Associates while maintaining harmony amongst them, resolves any grievances that may arise. Works very closely with Production Control to assure all customer requirements are met and Delivery Trouble Reports are kept to an absolute minimum. Maintains standards of housekeeping (5S) and safety per established company policies and procedures.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has supervisory responsibilities for hourly associates in the warehouse.

EXPERIENCE
Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should demonstrate general PC fundamentals and working knowledge of MS Office software.
