Overview:

Marathon Petroleum CompanyLP, a major petroleum refiner and marketer, is accepting resumesfor a Terminal Operator at our Birmingham, AL Terminal. Thisposition works with and around petroleum products and isresponsible for all operating aspects of a petroleum productsterminal. This position is critical in playing a prominent role inenhancing life’s possibilities by blending, distributing anddelivering quality products in a safe, reliable and competitivemanner.

This position will be assigned to a home location, but maybe expected to cover work at other locations in the area asrequired to meet business needs. The position may require either a4- or 5-day workweek or shift work on an as-needed basis. Call-outsand overtime may be required, which would include after businesshours and on weekends and holidays. This position will be providedwith continuous training to develop job related skills. Asuccessful person in this position will be collaborative, reliable,motivated, and prioritize safety.

Responsibilities:

– Troubleshooting, repair and maintenanceof a truck loading rack and other facility equipment. Sampling andlaboratory testing of petroleum products. Gauging storage tanks.

Supporting the shipment and receipt of petroleum products viapipeline and/or barge/ship. Stair climbing, lifting up to 50 poundsunassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance, and often workingoutdoors. Preparing terminal reports.

Requirements:

– High school diploma or GED Ability to learn basic computer skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide and ability todocument and maintain accurate records Ability to learn mechanical and electrical systems

Preferences:
