You are at least 18years old and ready to join or Shipping and Receiving team! What Happens in Shipping and Receiving Anyway? Interact with donors to accept and process donations at trailer sites in an outdoor setting; provide outstanding service to all donors
Receive newly donated items from our Donations team
Help us be green and sustainable, sort and ship recyclable items
Lift up to 50 lbs.
Work in the heat, the cold and in wet weather conditions

JOB BRIEF

America’s Thrift Stores is recruiting Dock Team Members! Our search is focused on people who enjoy a warehouse environment and teamwork, combined with a great work ethic and a passion for helping people. Successful candidates are hard-working with great customer service for our donors, thrive in a fast-paced atmosphere, and enjoy an indoor-outdoor work environment. This position provides a unique opportunity for those looking to combine their passion for charities with their interest in retail.

JOB DUTIES

Counts, weighs, and measures incoming and outgoing shipments Moves materials to point of need on time Documents movement and weights in required tracking system
Identifies shortage and increases, while documenting discrepancies and communicating issues to management
Operates material handling equipment safely, utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE)
Assist customers/donors with store donation center when needed. Manages inventory tracking systems to record deliveries and stock levels. Informs team members of operating plan targets and progress against targets. Assists with recruiting, selection, onboarding, and training team members.
May be called upon to assist Store Manager with the set-up of sales and marketing promotions & programs. Assists donors per Company standards. Maintains respectful, values-driven workplace. Brings complaints to the attention of Supervisor, Assistant Store Manager, or General Manager, in order to resolve issues consistent with America’s Thrift Stores values, policies and procedures. Protects company assets and information by ensuring their safe handling, security, and integrity. Any other duties as assigned by Dock Supervisor or Management.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

High School Degree, GED or equivalent work experiences preferred
Must be at least 18 years of age
Mathematical skills required
Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs, pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs, and lifting up to 50 lbs
Able to work in a team-oriented environment
Able to understand and execute company policies and procedures
Excellent organizational and time management skills with a strong ability to prioritize
Capable of building and sustaining relationships with peers and management
Able to accurately keep records and communicate progress to management
Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage multiple activities at one time
