Requirements:
Previous experience in logistics planning a plus.
Education:
High School Diploma; Associate Degree, Bachelors preferred, or equivalent work experience, must be able to read, write, and do basic math; forklift certification preferred
Skills:
Effective Communication Skills, Supervisory Experience Preferred, Organizational Skills, Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, Problem Solving Skills, Computer Literate, Knowledge of Word, Excel, and the Internet.
License:
Must maintain a valid driver’s license
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to fifty Pounds.
- Ability to work in extreme environmental conditions.
- Ability and strength to operate a computer keyboard, copy machine, printer, fax machines, and telephone. Responsibilities
- Strip and load pedal and line haul trucks in a timely, safe, and cost-efficient manner.
- Ensure hazardous materials are loaded properly, secured, correctly documented, and all trailers containing Haz Mat are properly placarded.
- All freight hauled properly and loads secure for safe claims free movement.
- Distribute Travel copies of bills and close out manifests.
- Prepare manifests and delivery receipts. Dispatch and distribute to drivers.
- Utilize Effective Supervision Skills.
- Utilize Effective Communication Skills.
- Process Daily Mail.
Inbound Operations:
Plan delivery routes for city peddles and execute effective loading to achieve optimum efficiency. Train, develop and correct behavior of Freight Handlers. Supervise the loading and unloading of trailers in a timely safe and cost-effective manner. Investigate all OS&D issues that arise. Ensure HM loaded properly, secured in trailer and correctly documented. Ensure trailers are correctly placarded when HM is on board. Ensure freight is loaded correctly for damage free movement. Ensure all freight is handled and counted correctly to achieve zero loss and damage.
