Position Purpose:
This position is an integral and vital part of the Parts Department by facilitating and managing the parts warehouse, including the parts delivery drivers. This position is crucial to achieve the highest customer satisfaction and dealer profitability by performing his/her duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures. The Lead will oversee the receiving, stocking, pulling, labeling, and loading of the parts accurately within a timely manner. Receive, sort, count, and verify incoming parts against documentation for accuracy and integrity of parts for stock and distribution.
Essential Functions of the job:
Supervises the receiving, storing and processing of the returnable items (cores) to the return center. Supervises employees engaged in pulling and filling outgoing shipments and the preparation items for the shipment. Overseeing of the outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments. Supervises the manifesting, departure and completion of order deliveries. Monitors driver mileage and fuel consumption for the equipment usage report. Provides initial and on-going training and evaluation to assigned delivery personnel as related to job duties and performance expectations. Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies facility maintenance manager or an outside service facility for the repair. Advises department manager of any shortages and conducts an investigation into the issue. Compiles records of filled and unfilled orders. Plans, organizes and supervises the delivery function of the department ensuring timely and efficient delivery of company product. Ensures efficient and timely delivery of merchandise to dealers and customers. Works effectively with dealers/customers to schedule deliveries and the pick-up of returned merchandise. Evaluates shipping notices, bill of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet the shipping/receiving schedules. Establish and maintain stock records and other documents such as inventory, material control, and supply report Correct errors and exceptions to maintain stock control and minimize line item discrepancies. Reviews and verifies quantities received against bills of lading, purchase requests and shipping documents. Operates material handling equipment. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior personnel in support of warehouse operations. Assign duties and supervise subordinate personnel in proper work techniques and procedural compliance. Inspect major components to assess core value and ship to return center. Process UPS and FED EX daily shipments to determine and notify requester. Store received items until acquired for use. Work with multiple people in fast paced work environment to meet logistic demands. Manages the delivery drivers on a daily basis. Motivates and assigns tasks on a daily basis to the shipping department. Required Qualifications for this position Must have knowledge and experience in warehouse activity. Prefer 3-5 years in varying positions as picker, packer, shipping, receiving and stock control. Be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Must be able to multitask for prolonged periods, must be dynamic and quick in making decisions. Must be able to analyze stock item history and activity to determine discrepancy origin and put preventions in place to minimize those discrepancies. Must possess qualifications including an emphasis on honesty, integrity and loyalty. Must possess a high energy and positive work behavior at all times.
