OVERVIEW

Manage dock team members and daily operations of the dock, including Wet Slips, Dry Slips, Basin and the front lot.

KEY TASKS
  • Hire, train, motivate, coach, monitor and evaluate the performance of all dock team members
  • Maintain dock machinery and equipment effectively and in a safe working condition
  • Schedule all maintenance and repairs for dock machinery with Service Manager
  • Responsible for setting dock employee work schedules around marine operations
  • Oversee and participate in the training of new dock employees
  • Audit forklift operator performance to make sure training, job performance and attitude are acceptable
  • Initiate and oversee maintenance and repair area relating to the Dock/Yard resulting in a safe and attractive work area
  • Manage departmental expenses effectively
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with other departments
  • Prepare for and participate in meetings with management or other department heads
  • Schedule all sales, service and storage moves keeping in mind the best interest of the potential and existing customers
  • Communicate with Office Manager and/or Corporate on a regular basis in regards to storage related information
  • In the even that a boat is damaged, promptly report the damage to sales or service and if applicable, contact the customer that same day
  • Communicate customer satisfaction standards to all dock personnel
  • Monitor results of CSI reports and continually make improvements where and when needed
  • Resolve customer complaints and build loyal customer base for marina
  • Inventory boats in wet and dry storage weekly
  • Responsible for dipping and monitoring fuel tanks
