Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy. . Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes. . Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials. . Contact carrier representatives to make arrangements or to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials. . Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock. . Determine shipping methods, routes, or rates for materials to be shipped. . Compute amounts, such as space available, shipping, storage, or demurrage charges, using computer or price list. . Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor. . Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations. . Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimum supervision. . Works with Shipping and Receiving Lead to ensure department is working efficiently together. . In the absence of the Shipping and Receiving Lead, the Shipping Coordinator will work with Production Control and/or Director of Operations to ensure all shipping commitments are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
