Equipment Yard Operations Supervisor Description:

Primary Responsibilities:

Lead and Manage:

Oversee multiple departments within the equipment yard, focusing on forklift operations and truck loading. Your leadership will ensure that our operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Strategic Planning:

Assist in planning work schedules, determining workforce needs, and assessing material qualities. You’ll also be responsible for identifying construction equipment requirements and crew training needs.

Coordination and Delegation:

Plan, coordinate, and delegate tasks to the crew, ensuring that work is completed on time and to the highest standards.

Quality Assurance:

Inspect and ensure all work is performed in conformance with specifications, maintaining our commitment to quality.

Performance Monitoring:

Keep a close eye on attendance and performance, providing guidance and support to yard employees.

Safety First:

Understand and enforce safety procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all yard employees.

Supervision Qualifications:

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

At least two years of related work experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Forklift Expertise:

Experienced forklift operator with supervisory experience.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to exert heavy physical effort, frequently lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds of material. Comfortable with frequent walking, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and climbing.

Outdoor Work:

Comfortable working in a primarily outdoor environment.

Preferred Qualifications :

Concrete Construction Experience:

Preference given to candidates with formwork/concrete construction experience supporting forklift operations and yard supervision.
