The Shipping Manager ensures that daily floor checks are performed, dock is organized, carrier loading is performed timely and accurately and in compliance with company procedures and best practices. Qualified candidates must be able to plan, schedule, monitor, direct and execute the end-to-end, day-to-day shipping activities, labor planning and shifting resources as needed to adjust to changing business requirements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Works with facility management to plan labor – balancing planning and adjustments, SLAs and company’s targets; includes handling uncertainties and emergencies against customer service level agreements Interacts and maintains a good working relationship with customers and carriers Ensures that team is knowledgeable on necessary and expected processes and ensures that processes are undertaken in an efficient, appropriate, and professional manner. Uses coaching approach with ability to teach and explain SOP’s and processes. Knows how to hold associates accountable and instill a culture of discipline. Communicates challenges and recommendations to management Coordinates efforts of team members to move resources around to support business needs Organizes and problem-solves given uncertainties that may present themselves Test and provide feedback on IT tools and opportunities to enhance to improve efficiency and carrier experience Superior organization skills and ability to follow-up consistently in fast-paced, changing work environment. Other Education, formal training, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics which are desired for this position: Experience and familiarity with floor functions and key performance indicators of warehousing, distribution, or supply chain for the retail sector – preferably in apparel and footwear Familiar with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) Basic typing skills Strong communication skills, passionate about creating value to organization and customer needs Excellent employee and team building skills

Requirements:

Willingness to learn HS diploma or equivalent Bilingual preferred Excellent oral and written communication skills.
