HTI has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Shipping Supervisor with a new distribution/warehouse facility in Waynesboro, GA (located just south of Augusta). This is a full-time, direct hire, onsite position.
Pay range is $25

• 30 / hour, depending on experience and education
  Working hours are Mon-Fri 8:30am-5pm

Requirements:

Must have at least 4 years of recent experience as a Shipping Supervisor or Team Lead in the distribution or manufacturing industry.
Strong leadership, team building, mentoring, and communication skills.
Must have a high school diploma or GED; a college degree is a plus but not required.
Forklift certification and/or experience is required.
Must be willing and able to perform all general shipping/warehouse job duties when needed.
Must be passionate about creating a positive, safe, team-oriented work environment.
Basic math skills required.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds safely.
Must have strong computer skills, including experience with ERP software, Internet Explorer, logistics/order processing software, and Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Summary:

This is a working position and is primarily responsible for overseeing the shipping department, ensuring all shipping and receiving activities are accurate and efficient. Supervise teams and temporary employees as necessary to achieve company goals and objectives. Meeting with outside contractors and coordinating with senior management to accomplish maintenance projects when required.

Job Duties:

Supervise day-to-day performance of 10-20 shipping department team members in compliance with company policies and procedures. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; employee performance; employee safety; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Supervises temporary employees as required to receive cargo and ship orders as required. Acts as short-term back-up to Operations Manager.
Coordinate activities between the department teams by supervising and assisting the team leaders, including LTL Freight, Receiving, Couriers & Maintenance.
Support, train and mentor all shipping department team members.
Ensures accurate and efficient shipment of orders.
Maintain accurate inventory, in receiving containers, cycle counts and restocking.
Organize and plan department activities to meet company goals and objectives and assist in developing these objectives.
Follow all warehouse health, safety and security programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with OSHA regulations.
Assess work processes to ensure project systems are applied and functioning as designed.
Review and evaluate staff performance, collaborating with the Operations and Facility Manager.
