The Lumber Manufactory (TLM) is seeking a highly skilled and

• experienced Log Yard Lead
• to oversee daily operations in our log yard at our New Albany facility. This role will drive the safe, efficient, and productive handling of raw materials, lead a team of yard workers, and maintain compliance with industry standards and company policies. This full-time, salaried position reports to the Mill Manager and plays an integral role in TLM’s overall success.
• Key Responsibilities
• :• Supervise and coordinate log yard operations, including receiving, unloading, sorting, scaling, storing, and loading logs.
• Oversee and ensure the efficient movement and placement of materials to optimize yard space and productivity.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate yard personnel, ensuring adherence to safety and operational procedures.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities, coordinating maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and yard activities using computerized tracking systems.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and seamless delivery of materials.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with company policies, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
• Develop and implement operational improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Contribute to overall yard operations and logistics as needed. 
• Qualifications
• :• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in forestry, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
• Forklift Operator Certification, preferred offroad or rough terrain.
• Lift Equipment Operator Certification.
• Proven experience in log yard operations or similar supervisory roles.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage and motivate teams effectively.
• Knowledge of industry standards, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
• Proficiency in computer systems and inventory management software.
• Physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
