Job Description
Back Dock Supervisor – Fulton Street 3.4 3.4 out of 5 stars Canton, MS 39046 Supervises activities of all hourly employees in assigned departments. Monitors yields, and efficiencies, in their area of responsibility.
Essential Job Functions/Duties:
Supervises the work of all hourly employees in assigned departments. Train, assign duties, conduct performance reviews, terminate, communicate policies and other work-related matters, and motivate employees Reports machinery malfunctions to the maintenance department. Supervises housekeeping of the department. Responsible for the safety, ergonomics, and job training of all employees directly under his/her supervision. Must ensure that proper protective equipment (PPE) is provided as well as the safe operation of any equipment. Responsible for department efficiency, cost, and quality of departmental goals. Be able to review financials and performance. Develop and implement action plans to address departmental efficiencies during monthly meetings.
Secondary Functions/Duties:
Performs other supervisory duties as needed or assigned.
Qualifications/Experience/License:
One to three years of poultry plant process experience is desired. Demonstrated successful supervisory skills preferably in poultry processing Excellent oral and written communication skills Excellent team building and leadership skills Knowledge of UKG Pro/Dimensions HRIS system
Educational Requirements:
College Graduate with a degree in Poultry Science or another Agriculture discipline
Preferred High School Graduate Physical/Mental Requirements:
May be required to lift up to 50 lbs., bend and climb. Must have the ability to think analytically and get along with others in a team situation. May be required to work in a hot, cold, dusty, and wet environment Must be able to stand up to 8 hours per day.
