Distribution Operations Position Summary:

As an individual contributor, the Second Shift Coordinator supports the efficient and timely processing of key operational activities across the distribution center. This role is responsible for coordinating shift priorities, facilitating communication across departments, ensuring accurate documentation, and supporting the movement of goods and materials throughout the facility. The Second Shift Coordinator plays a critical role in maintaining workflow consistency and inventory accuracy while upholding safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Shift Coordination & Workflow Monitoring:

Oversees the day-to-day activities on second shift, including the flow of inbound and outbound shipments, internal material movement, and general operational support across functions.

Communication & Collaboration:

Acts as a liaison between shift associates, leads, and cross-functional teams such as logistics, imports, inventory control, and customer service. Provides updates on workload, delays, and operational changes as needed.

Dock & Space Management:

Assigns dock doors and staging areas to support smooth trailer movement, container unloading, and replenishment activities. Coordinates trailer and container drop-off/removal with logistics partners.

Documentation & Systems Accuracy:

Maintains records and ensures timely processing of shipping/receiving paperwork, tally sheets, pick/pack slips, and inventory transactions in the WMS.

Inventory Integrity:

Supports reconciliation of discrepancies, resolution of damaged product reports, and tracks key metrics to aid in improving inventory accuracy and visibility.

Equipment Operation:

Operates powered industrial trucks (PITs) and material handling equipment as needed to assist with workflow, including pallet movement and staging.

Safety & Compliance:

Ensures all shift activities follow established safety procedures and company policies. Completes required safety and compliance training.

Other Duties:

Performs additional tasks as assigned to support overall warehouse operations and business needs during the second shift.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required. 2+ years of warehouse, logistics, or distribution center experience preferred. Strong communication and organizational skills. Proficiency in warehouse systems (e.g., WMS) and basic computer applications. Ability to operate or learn to operate PIT equipment. Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically active environment. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities on second shift.
