Job duties:
- Ensures the Contour Edgebander, Rilesa Drill, Grooving Saw and Slot Cutter machines are set up and ready to go when shift starts and informs the production manager of any issues.
- Balance quality, productivity, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas.
- Coordinates smooth and efficient changeovers limiting downtime.
- Participates in Continuous Improvement activity and teamwork.
- Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to production manager.
- Follows the company’s rules and procedures regarding behavior, quality, health, and safety.
- Provides leadership and training to department employees.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment and performs routine preventative maintenance.
- Prepares the machine for production at the end of each day for the following day.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
3-5 years’ experience in machining. At least 2 years’ experience in a Lead/Supervisory role. Ability to read part drawings and accurately use metric measuring tools (tape measure, vernier calipers and micrometer). Testing of equipment Must have good communication skills both personal and via Email Must have sound machine troubleshooting skills
- Must have good judgment with decision making regarding safety and quality.
- Ability to work additional overtime if required to get the job tasks completed.
- Self-motivated and ability to make decisions Must be able to read and write English with good written and verbal communication skills High school diploma or GED required.
