The NCDAC / Support Services / Division of Engineering,Construction, and Maintenance (DECM) is recruiting for an energizedand collaborative Regional Maintenance Clinton Satellite YardSupervisor (Maintenance/Construction Supervisor III), to be a partof the Piedmont Regional Maintenance Team but duty stationed at theClinton Satellite Maintenance Yard in Clinton, NC. This positiondirectly reports to the Piedmont Regional Maintenance Yard Managerout of Asheboro, NC and will be tasked with supervising (3)Regional Maintenance Technicians, (2) Regional HVAC Technicians,and (1) Regional Admin Specialist, tasked with completinglike-in-kind Force Account preventative maintenance andreplacements. The Regional Maintenance Clinton Satellite YardSupervisor (Maintenance/Construction Supervisor III) positionprovides planning, scheduling, and completing of routine andpreventative maintenance and like-in-kind small project systemreplacements at (7) responsible Institutions and (14) supportingInstitutions within the Piedmont Regional Maintenance service areabut can be called upon to assist the Mountain and Coastal RegionalMaintenance Yards when necessary. A successful candidate for thisposition, shall have multiple trade journeyman level experience inthe construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of facilitysystems, equipment, and machinery; be able to work independently tocomplete work assignments received by a direct supervisor; read andinterpret blueprints; and perform other assigned duties. Thisposition requires the daily commute to either the Clinton SatelliteMaintenance Yard in Clinton, NC or assigned project location. Thisis a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.
The work schedule is Monday – Friday and may require some weekendwork and overnight travel to meet the demands of the organization.

Demonstrated journeymanlevel experience in the methodologies of facility maintenance andrepairs within (2) of the general, plumbing, mechanical,electrical, and/or electronics trade disciplines. Associate’s degree inconstruction management, air conditioning, heating andrefrigeration technology, industrial maintenance technology ormechanical engineering technology from an appropriately accreditedinstitution and three (3) years of progressive experience inconstruction or facility maintenance including two (2) years ofsupervisory experience in construction, maintenance and/or repairof buildings and facilities; or High school or General EducationalDevelopment (GED) diploma and five (5) years of progressiveexperience in facility maintenance or construction includingjourney level experience in at least three (3) building ormechanical trades including two (2) years of supervisory experiencein construction, maintenance and/or repair of buildings andfacilities; or an equivalent combination of education andexperience. DECM also actsas the DAC representative on matters involving the State PropertyOffice and State Building Commission. Our unified purpose is toprovide architectural and engineering support, sustainability,efficiency, and resiliency planning, as well as construction andmaintenance services. This ensures that all statewide Institutionsand Facilities comply with building codes, regulations, andlegislative mandates while promoting the agency’s rehabilitationand reentry goals through offender job training in the constructionand maintenance trades. We support the Institutions and Facilitiesdirectly and indirectly by installing and maintaining kitchen,plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and electronics equipment. TheDECM-Engineering team consists of experts in architectural andengineering design, property services, project management, andsustainability, efficiency, and resiliency (SE&R). Theseservices support new construction, renovation, and like-in-kind andupgrade maintenance repairs to the agency’s physical plant whileensuring compliance with the NCDOA State Construction Office.
Through valuable rehabilitation and training for offenders, we aimto improve recidivism rates. DECM-Construction undertakesconstruction, renovation, and major maintenance projects thatinvolve longer periods of resource allocation with a focus onenhancing the department’s infrastructure assets. DECM-Maintenance,which encompasses the Mountain Regional Yard, Piedmont RegionalYard, Coastal Regional Yard, and three Satellite Yards, providesessential plumbing, HVAC/R, and electrical preventative,prescriptive, and routine maintenance services to all Institutionsand Facilities. Additionally, our maintenance efforts includespecific areas such as telecommunications, electronic intrusionsystems (EIS), fencing, cameras, fire alarms, and energy managementsystems, all focused on maintaining the Department’s infrastructureassets.
