A typical Profit Center is the heartof our business and consists of a warehouse, counter, sales office,and (sometimes) a showroom. Our PCs conduct business under uniquetrade names and offer a customized business approach, honoringwhat’s special about each local marketplace. Penstan Supply is oneof those trade names and is looking for a Warehouse Supervisor attheir State College, PA location. Pay for Warehouse Supervisor isbetween $18 and $24 per hour at this location. About the
Role:
You will:
- Supervise, schedule and train warehouseand delivery staff to ensure safe and efficient operation of allwarehouse functions.
- Ensure that merchandise is received andstored in an efficient and economical manner and maintain requiredrecords in conformance with company policy.
- Supervise the properrouting, loading, and preparation of orders for shipment anddelivery in accordance with customer instructions.
- Review andmaintain appropriate DOT records and physical examinationcertificates for drivers, ensure current training certification forforklift/material handling equipment operators.
- Supervise andschedule the maintenance of all company delivery vehicles andmaterial handling equipment in use in the warehouse.
- Recommendpurchases of warehouse equipment; keep abreast of new warehousingmethods.
- Maintain the safety of warehouse operations incompliance with the company’s Safety Standards, OSHA and any otherapplicable regulations.
- Maintain the security of warehouse andgrounds to protect the Profit Center’s assets.
- Resolve alldelivery complaints and receiving disputes quickly and effectively.
- Perform all job functions in accordance with the company’s SafetyStandards.
- Successfully complete required safety and compliancetraining programs as assigned.
- Perform other reasonably relatedduties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management asrequired.
About You:
- 3 years of warehouse receiving and materialhandling experience
- Knowledge of products sold at the ProfitCenter preferred Our ideal candidate will also:
- Have experiencesupervising staff or acting as a team lead.
- Be able to safelyoperate a forklift and other material handling equipment in use atthe Profit Center.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of and beable to apply and enforce OSHA, DOT and other warehouse andmaterial handling safety regulations.
- Be able to build andmaintain positive working relationships with customers, vendors andco-workers.
- Be able to remain calm and function effectively instressful, unexpected, and/or emergency situations.
- Be able toquickly develop comprehensive knowledge of products sold at theProfit Center.
- Be able to learn and operate the computer-relatedsystems used for warehouse operations.
- Read, write, speak, andunderstand English.
- Be able to add, subtract, multiply, anddivide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
