Onsite Purpose/Summary:
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations to ensure the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of a wide range of goods. This role ensures that productivity targets are met while maintaining high standards for safety, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency. The Warehouse Supervisor leads and supports a team of warehouse staff, coordinates with other departments, enforces company policies, and implements best practices for logistics and inventory management. A key function of this role is to optimize workflow, manage labor resources effectively, and contribute to a safe and organized warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, and shipping of products Supervise and coordinate warehouse staff to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment Control operational budgets, including labor, equipment, and facility expenses Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular cycle counts and reconciliations Ensure readiness for peak seasons, emergencies, or high-volume fluctuations through proactive planning Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards (e.g., OSHA) Organize and optimize warehouse layout for efficient product flow and space utilization Schedule and assign tasks based on order volume, staffing levels, and operational priorities Train and evaluate team members to ensure productivity, accuracy, and adherence to procedures Monitor and maintain equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners) to ensure safe and efficient operation Monitor KPIs such as order accuracy, on-time shipping, inventory turnover, and labor productivity Coordinate with purchasing, logistics, and customer service teams to resolve issues and meet service expectations Maintain a clean, organized, and secure warehouse environment Prepare operational reports, including productivity, inventory accuracy, and shipping performance Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork throughout the distribution center Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required, associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, or a related field preferred 5+ years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or distribution operations, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or lead role Strong understanding of warehouse and distribution processes, including receiving, inventory control, order fulfillment, and shipping Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel); ERP experience is a plus Knowledge of OSHA and workplace safety regulations Strong leadership and team management skills, including the ability to coach and motivate employees Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working across departments and leading teams Customer-focused mindset with problem-solving abilities Ability to analyze data and KPIs to drive performance improvements Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish) Forklift certification or knowledge of safe forklift operation Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or overtime, as needed Physical ability to lift and move materials (up to 50 lbs.) and work in a warehouse environment Must have permanent US work authorization
