Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Shipping and Receiving Lead at our Piedmont, South Carolina manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily shipping and receiving activity to ensure efficient, accurate and timely handling of incoming and outgoing products. This role is responsible for ensuring adequate inventory records, as well as ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operational excellence. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain daily communication with the Department Manager, Customer Service and other employees in the department to make sure that all products being shipped meet are loaded accurately and will meet the quality requirements and specifications of the customer. This position will also be required to record and track information in the inventory control system.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Utilizes SAP Warehouse Management System and barcode scanning to ensure real-time inventory location and accuracy Work closely with Supply Chain and Operations to ensure proper inventory levels to support order fulfilment Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts Reconciling inventory with data storage system Maintains staging lanes and change layouts according to incoming/outgoing products Maintains paperwork and computer files as needed Ensure warehouse is always orderly and organized Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results Leads and trains shipping and receiving staff to meet productivity and quality standards. Operates forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment Provide customer samples as needed Issuing equipment work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement

Required Skills/Abilities:

Strong knowledge of logistics processes and safety practices Proficient in Microsoft Office and inventory management system Forklift certification (or ability to obtain) Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods of time

Education and Experience:
