Job Description

Routing Coordinator (Steel Warehouse) 2.7 2.7 out of 5 stars West Columbia, SC 29170 Work in the steel warehouse operation by performing the following duties:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Learn & understand the full scope of the steel warehouse operations from receiving to shipping. Route trucks daily (using cloud-based fleet technology); sort/manage the necessary paperwork for the loading crew and the drivers. Assign delivery stops to drivers in POD (Proof of Delivery) application daily once routes have been compiled and check that all deliveries are processed through the company’s ERP at the end of each day. Run necessary reports daily to eliminate any discrepancies (via the company’s ERP system). Assist with inventory control – receive mill deliveries, transfer shipments, process customer shipments, perform inventory checks, perform quality control checks on transfers and customer orders, etc. (via the company’s ERP system). Manage paperwork for both drivers and fleet in an organized fashion – mileage sheets, service documentation, delivery receipts, POD’s, etc. Scan MTR’s (Material Test Report) into DocLink. Assist branches/customers with any special requests. Work on warehouse floor as needed. Notify your supervisor of any issues that arise during your shift (damaged material, processing errors, equipment breakdowns, accidents, etc.). Clean and tidy your work area daily. Perform miscellaneous warehouse activities when assigned by your supervisor. Participate in the annual physical inventory (typically scheduled over a weekend in October or November).

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Must have a high degree of work ethic and team player. Has an attitude and willingness to want to learn. High School Diploma is required (GED acceptable). 1-2 years of job-related experience is preferred, but not necessary. Must be able to pass a background check and a drug screening. Equipment Requirements Always have a measuring tape and slide caliper with you to measure steel. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must have: the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; the ability to read a tape measure.
