Full Job Description Overview:

The Yard Coordinator is responsible for the equipment organization and daily operations of the yard. The yard coordinator creates and maintains an organized yard layout, receives and ships equipment to and from the branch, assists customers loading and unloading equipment, and ensures compliance with safety policy and procedures. This role will collaborate with sales, rental, and service departments and conduct biweekly inventory scans to ensure inventory accuracy. Responsibilities:

Contributes to a positive work environment and promotes the vision, mission and values of BMC. Completes all job responsibilities in a safe manner, promotes and champions a safe and healthy work environment. Completes all required safety training, ensures compliance with safety policy and procedures, and encourages an accident-free safety culture. Conducts bimonthly inventory scans of all sales, rental, and used assets. Collaborates to resolve unscanned assets, barcode needs, and is responsible for the branch’s inventory accuracy. Develops, implements, and maintains the machine and attachment yard layout and organization. Ensure the yard is clean, organized, free of safety hazards, and identifies opportunities to best serve internal and external customers. This role is encouraged to communicate any yard needs such as signage, safety improvements, or storage racks. Locating and prepping equipment for parts truck transfers, customer pickups, and internal/external transportation. Greets and assists customers with the loading and unloading of equipment. Check in all BMC owned equipment that arrives at the branch. Responsible for the shipping/receiving of assets going to and from the yards. Assist in staging machine displays and retail lobby machines. Ensure new and rental machines are full of fuel prior to customer pick up or delivery. Ensure the manlifts are plugged in and rent ready. Assist moving equipment around the yard, including towing dead machines. Serve as a spotter when applicable to ensure personnel safety and eliminate asset damage. Maintain proficiency in computer systems to accomplish daily responsibilities. If your branch does not have dedicated wash rack personnel, run sweeper on concrete areas to maintain cleanliness. May assist in maintaining tags on machines to communicate hazards and crucial machine information. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional technical or vocational training in heavy equipment, preferred. Knowledgeable and proficient in the safe use and maintenance of hand/yard tools as well as street sweeper equipment. Experience in forklift operating, preferred. Proficient in the use of a computer to complete job duties and timekeeping. Valid driver’s license with no more than two citations in the previous 36-month period. Must be a team player that is hard working, has a sense of urgency, and can complete tasks with minimal supervision. Must greet and treat customers in a professional manner as a customer facing, representation of Blanchard Machinery. Must possess an aptitude for continuous improvement, attention to detail, and have a customer-centric approach. Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities. Able to work overtime, weekends and holidays as requested. Working Conditions The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside (non-climate controlled) and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to injury and/or hazardous materials. Requires standing, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, lifting. Must be able to lift varied weights up to 50 lbs. unassisted. Seeing, reading, and writing to complete job responsibilities. Use of computers and other forms of technology to complete job responsibilities.
