ABOUT THE ROLE
The Terminal Operator safely operates all equipment at the locationused to load and unload rail cars, boats and/or trucks, ensuringorder accuracy and expeditious processing of requests.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
Customer service, together with providing the final qualitycontrol check of the product, are the major factors at theterminal. The manner in which trucks are expedited, customershandled, and activities conducted are vital to providing efficientservice to customers. Efficient handling of product in both receiving and shipping isessential to efficient terminal operations. Internal controls providing reasonable assurance of effectiveand efficient operations, including actions to prevent and detectfraud and protect Company resources Ensure compliance with internal control procedures -communicating problems in operations, unwarranted deviations fromestablished standards, and violations of policy or law Responsible for the unloading of barges and or railcars,transferring of the products into proper silos, sampling andtesting of products received and shipped. Loads bulk unit trucks correctly, providing legal weights andproper product for customer delivery or pick up. Responsible for safe, proper use and operation of unloadingequipment (vibrators, compressors, front-end loader, blowers,pumps, vacuum systems, barge moving equipment, railcar mover,pneumatic door opener, boot lifts, hoisting equipment, etc.). Processes Bill of Ladings. Assumes responsibilities for terminal operation during absenceof supervisor. Performs all other duties and functions required by terminalmanagement associated with the operation of the terminal so long asthose duties do not present a hazard or violate any knowngovernmental law. Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving andadhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all workenvironments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibitthese behaviors.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Required Education:
High School diploma/
GED Required Work Experience:
1-3 years
Required Computer and Software Skills:
Basic Knowledge aboutcomputers, Microsoft programs, and SAP.
Additional Requirements:
High Mechanical aptitude and ability Candidates with a mechanical background and welding experienceare desirable Knowledge of cement, the construction industry and integratedcomputer systems an asset Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols andproper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment(“PPE”), including but not limited to respirators. Employees thatare required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where therespirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative andquantitative fit tests.
