SHIPPING LEAD XS

Power Batteries, a high-performance battery manufacturer based in Knoxville, TN, is seeking a Shipping Lead to join our Shipping and Receiving Department. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of logistics, inventory management, and warehouse processes. This role is essential in ensuring timely and accurate shipments while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.

Duties :

Supervise daily shipping operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Plan and coordinate logistics for both large and small shipments, ensuring on-time delivery. Accurately package, label, and weigh outgoing shipments, ensuring they meet safety and postal requirements. Manage a team of shipping personnel, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations. Oversee inventory control processes to maintain accurate stock levels and minimize discrepancies. Coordinate with logistics partners and third-party logistics (3PL) providers to optimize shipping schedules. Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs. Ensure proper materials handling practices are followed to maintain product integrity during transit. Monitor shipping documentation for accuracy and completeness, including bills of lading and packing lists. Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of shipping activities with overall warehouse operations.

Qualifications :

Ability to lift up to 80 pounds regularly Previous experience in a fast-paced warehouse or shipping environment, with strong attention to detail Previous experience in HazMat shipping preferred Familiarity with scheduling shipments through LTL carriers, FedEx, UPS, etc. Ability to stand and perform physical tasks for extended periods Experience with QuickBooks Desktop is preferred Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills; ability to collaborate effectively with team members Forklift experience and professional certification strongly preferred Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to prioritize daily tasks effectively High level of integrity and personal accountability; accurate inventory handling is critical
