The warehouse supervisor’s responsibilities include supervising employees, coordinating logistical processes, ensuring the quality of goods, and preparing relevant documentation. To be successful as a warehouse supervisor you should be experienced in optimizing warehousing processes and be an effective team leader. An outstanding warehouse supervisor should be dependable and have excellent organizational and time management skills.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Supervision, training, and direct assistance of warehouse operations which include, but not limited to, loading/unloading, receiving, sorting, put away, picking, and inventory control. Leading by example to ensure that all procedures and best practices are consistently followed. Drive an efficient and motivated workforce by providing effective coaching, feedback, and encouragement. Maintain accurate inventory levels by assisting in regular physical counts with warehouse teams and reconcile discrepancies with the warehouse inventory system. Ensure a culture of safety by enforcing safety standards and adhering to standard operational procedures. Measure and report KPIs and operational metrics to the Operations Manager on a weekly basis. Responsible for ensuring all personnel are engaged in effective work practices, and address any and all concerns regarding work performance and personnel behavior. Receive and count incoming product while auditing for defects or shortages. Report shortages, defects, or any concern or issue with product to manager and material team. Control and monitor in and outbound inventory count by verifying clerk’s accuracy, by comparing documentation to actual product that is offloaded or loaded. Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location in an orderly and easily accessible manner using labeling or organizational tools (including the system). Assist in cycle count as needed. Occasionally may be required to operate a forklift. Maintain the area; keep clean and organized. Complete other duties assigned.

Required Skills:

Proven work experience as a warehouse supervisor. Excellent communication skills. Expertise is warehouse management procedures and best practices. Proven ability to implement process improvement initiative Leadership skills and ability manage staff. Strong decision making and problem-solving skills Attention to detail Ability to motivate employees and establish a work environment based on trust and respect.
