AMF has been in business since 1988 and is located in Brevard County Florida near the Kennedy Space Center. AMF specializes in coatings for aluminum consisting of hardcoat anodize (Type III), regular anodize (Type II), chemical conversion coating / chem film (both hexavalent and trivalent), as well as electropolish and passivation for stainless steel alloys. JOB SUMMARY
Prepares precision metal parts for processing or shipment. Preparation for processing is accomplished by racking and masking parts prior to the metal finishing plating process. Preparation for shipment is performed by removing parts from racks and packing the parts in paper, cardboard or wooden containers.
SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Must be able to follow directions and work well with others in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Must be Team oriented and take pride in producing quality results. Maintains a high level of organization, attention to detail, and accuracy. Verifies accuracy of customer part quantities and process results at various stages of the process. Reads and comprehends job ticket information and drawings. Carries out special handling, racking, masking, and packing requirements as specified. Processes jobs per dates and schedules. Selects proper racking equipment or shipping materials to be used based on written instructions or from similar previous jobs and training. Counts parts at both racking and shipping stages. Records and provides notification of quality nonconformances prior to processing or shipment. Must be willing to work overtime when needed. Works in other areas as assigned; helps others when asked.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or GED is required. Has a minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar factory production or warehouse environment. Possess high level of manual dexterity. Works quickly, carefully, and efficiently. Limits the use of cell phones to breaks only. Previous forklift training and experience is a plus. Previous experience working in an ISO-regulated company is a plus. Has valid Florida driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from work.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Stands for long periods of time in an un-airconditioned manufacturing environment. Temperatures in the work environment may fluctuate with outside weather and processing conditions. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Regularly lifts, loads, or carries mechanical parts. Is often exposed to damp/humid conditions, chemical fumes, or airborne particles. Noise levels are usually moderate but if exceeded, hearing protection is required. Use of personal safety equipment is required when necessary (goggles, gloves, respirators, hearing protection, etc.).
