$16.25 – (once permanent with attendance incentive $17.25 /hr ) Job Description This position involves handling materials using a sit-down forklift in a warehouse environment. During the initial two-month training period, you will learn about different metals and how to operate forklifts effectively. Responsibilities include pulling materials, measuring them to verify correct orders, programming and operating a saw, assisting customers with their orders, and inputting orders into the computer system. Responsibilities Operate sit-down forklifts to pull materials within the warehouse. Measure materials to verify correct orders. Set up and program the saw for cutting. Make initial cuts and verify dimensions. Finish cutting full orders accurately. Assist customers with their orders. Input orders into the computer system. Essential Skills Forklift operation experience. 1 year of warehouse experience. 6+ months of measuring experience. 6+ months of forklift experience. Ability to lift and handle materials. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in the metals or steel industry is preferred but not required. Prior warehouse experience is preferred. Ability to use a computer and check people out at the counter. Ability to read a tape measure. Prior caliper experience is helpful. Valid driver’s license required. Must pass Wonderlic testing. Work Environment This position is based in a non-air-conditioned warehouse with a hot environment. The shift is Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with a one-hour lunch break. Employees must wear pants, a tee shirt, and steel-toed shoes. The location handles materials from nearby stores that are pre-cut or of unique sizes. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of POMPANO BEACH, Florida. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 – $17.00/hr.
