Material Handler Forklift

• Job Description This role involves handling various materials within a warehouse setting using sit down forklifts.

During the initial two-month training period, you will learn about different metals and receive certification in forklift operation. The role includes pulling materials, measuring them to ensure accurate order fulfillment, setting up and programming saws, making precise cuts, assisting customers, and inputting orders on a computer. Responsibilities Operate sit down forklifts to pull materials within the warehouse. Measure materials to verify accuracy of orders. Setup and program saws for cutting materials. Make initial cuts and verify dimensions before completing orders. Assist customers with their orders. Input orders into the computer system. Essential Skills 1 year of warehouse experience. 6+ months of measuring experience. 6+ months of forklift operating experience. Ability to operate a sit down forklift and pallet jack. Basic computer skills for order entry. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in the metals or steel industry is highly preferred. Ability to read a tape measure is required. Prior caliper experience is helpful. Valid driver’s license is necessary. Ability to pass Wonderlic testing. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is located in a non-air-conditioned warehouse with a schedule of Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, including a one-hour lunch break. The environment is hot and requires wearing pants, t-shirts, and steel-toed shoes. The warehouse is smaller and handles materials from local stores that are pre-cut or of unique sizes. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of POMPANO BEACH, Florida. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 – $17.00/hr.
