Position Overview:
The Receiving Warehouse Associate plays a crucial role in the accurate and efficient reception of merchandise into the warehouse. This position involves counting and receiving incoming products, reporting arrivals to requesting departments, maintaining logs, entering receipts in the ERP system and ensuring precise labeling and documentation. The Receiving Warehouse Associate operates various equipment, understands safety protocols, and is adaptable to perform various warehouse tasks. This role reports directly to the Warehouse Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
Receiving Merchandise:
Accurately count and receive all incoming merchandise to ensure completeness and accuracy of orders.
Arrival Reporting:
Send email notifications to departments that have requested updates on merchandise arrivals.
Receiving Log:
Maintain an up-to-date receiving log and utilize the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track and update product information.
Labeling:
Label each individual box with the company’s part number for easy identification and organization.
Quality Checks:
Perform random checks of every incoming order to confirm the quantity packed inside and the components match the packing slip.
Packing Slip Verification:
Receive everything against a packing slip and communicate any discrepancies to the appropriate department for resolution.
Equipment Operation:
Operate various equipment, including the Order Picker, Reach Truck, and Stand-Up forklift, pallet jacks Box Truck non CDL rated.
Safety Awareness:
Understand safety tools and procedures to ensure a secure working environment for all employees.
Opening and Closing Procedures:
Execute opening and closing procedures for the warehouse, including security measures and equipment checks.
Driving Responsibilities:
Operate a box truck as instructed for merchandise transportation, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.
Versatility:
Be available to assist with any additional operations or tasks required within the warehouse including shipping, production, cycle counting, consolidation, disassembling crates for the trash, operating power tools among others.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Additional training or certification in warehousing is beneficial. Ability to count rapidly and have no problem with basic math calculations. Know basic
EXCEL, WORD, MICROSOFT TEAMS, WMS
system. Physical fitness and the ability to lift and move heavy objects continuously, stand for long periods of time, work in hot environments. Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory tracking. Ability to operate various warehouse equipment safely, including Order Picker, Reach Truck, and Stand-Up forklift. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in receiving and documentation. Knowledge of safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. Flexibility and adaptability to perform various tasks as needed. Effective communication skills. Valid driver’s license for box truck operation.
Reporting:
The Receiving Warehouse Associate reports directly to the Warehouse Supervisor and collaborates with other warehouse team members, departments, and management to ensure the smooth and accurate flow of merchandise and operations.
