Position:
Material Handler Reports to: Operations Manager Basic summary of the job: Loads, unloads, and moves materials with the use of forklifts, overhead crane, or by hand Essential (primary) functions including but not limited to: Load material into customer vehicles and secure to prevent shifting during transit Unload, color code, and store material received through outside vendors via railcar or truck Record items received on warehouse receiver form Pull customer orders for loaders and record tickets, line items and weight on activity log Operate forklift and/or overhead crane to move materials Complete first article process on all orders Drive tractor trailers on company property Adhere to the Quality Policy at all times. Must be trained in all Quality procedures relating to specific job assignment Follow all safety procedures
Requirements:
Required education/work experience: High school diploma/GED preferred Previous warehouse experience with forklift and overhead cranes preferred Necessary (required) skills: Must know how to read tape measure accurately Good basic math skills including whole numbers, fractions and decimals Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
PHYSICAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Must be able to walk, stand, sit, and apply all motor functions in order to perform the job. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds, operate overhead cranes and forklift.
