Job Description:
A General Laborer performs a wide variety of manual tasks, often assisting skilled workers in diverse settings like construction, manufacturing, or warehousing. They may handle tasks such as loading/unloading materials, site preparation, operating machinery, and following instructions from supervisors. General Laborers are crucial for supporting project efficiency and safety.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Site Preparation and Cleanup
- Cleaning work areas, removing debris, and preparing sites for construction or other operations. Material Handling
- Loading and unloading materials, transporting items, and ensuring they are stored properly. Assisting Skilled Workers
- Providing support to electricians, mechanics, carpenters, and other specialized workers. Operating Equipment
- Operating various tools and machinery, including drills, saws, and other equipment, under supervision. Following Instructions
- Adhering to instructions from supervisors and following safety procedures. Safety Compliance
- Ensuring proper safety protocols are followed and maintaining a safe work environment.
Specific Tasks May Include:
Digging trenches and backfilling. Building and dismantling scaffolding. Compacting earth. Directing traffic. Performing basic landscaping tasks. Moving equipment and supplies.
