Summary:
Seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented individual to support the cleaning, maintenance, repair, and proper storage of durable medical equipment (DME), such as bed frames, low air-loss mattresses, patient lifts, and trapeze bars. This role ensures equipment is safe, functional, and ready for use in healthcare environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Cleaning & Sanitization:
Handle and transport soiled equipment safely and in accordance with established protocols. Perform thorough cleaning and disinfection of medical equipment using approved agents and methods. Follow strict health and safety procedures, including proper use of PPE.
Inspection & Maintenance:
Inspect equipment before and after cleaning for signs of wear or damage. Conduct routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance. Report and document any issues or needed repairs. Ensure all accessories and components are included and functioning.
Repairs & Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and repair mechanical or electrical issues with DME. Replace faulty parts, adjust settings, and perform tests to verify functionality. Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer standards and safety regulations.
Documentation & Inventory:
Maintain accurate records of cleaning, repairs, and maintenance activities. Monitor inventory of spare parts, tools, and cleaning supplies. Ensure all documentation complies with applicable standards and policies.
Customer Support & Logistics:
Provide guidance on the proper use and care of equipment. Train staff or clients on equipment use as needed. Assist with equipment setup, loading/unloading, and deliveries.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training a plus Prior experience with DME, mechanical repairs, or cleaning protocols preferred Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to lift and move heavy equipment Comfortable using hand tools and basic diagnostic equipment Valid driver’s license may be required (if travel/delivery involved)
