Looking for a professional in the Data Warehouse Data Analyst,Ad-Hoc Report Writer role is needed in the Enterprise InformationManagement group to replace an individual moving to the Coreproject. This position is to provide report ad-hoc functions forthe Quick Response Report Team within the Enterprise InformationManagement organization. This resource will work on Core andnon-Core ad-hoc report requests for three months to augment theactivities currently performed by the existing Ad-Hoc ReportWriter.
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for interfacing with internal andexternal users in the design and development of the ad-hoc reportsand production data extracts. This person will capturerequirements, design, create, manage, and fulfill requests forreports and information. The Data Analyst Ad-Hoc Report Writer usestheir knowledge of reporting writing tools such as
T-SQL, SQL
QueryAnalyzer, SQL Server Management Studio and SQL Server IntegrationServices (SSIS) to develop and deliver reports and data extracts tousers.
Essential Functions:
? Perform data analysis and report development activities forAd-Hoc Reporting Team. ? Analyze source system data to understand the data structure,definitions and anomalies. ? Interact with customer as needed to better define and understandreporting requirements. ? Interact with other technical team members to establish reportingrequirements. ? Perform daily SQL query and report writing, when requested. ? Develop SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages toextract large data sets for user requests. ? Ability to program in SQL to perform the data query, reportingand data extract functions. ? Document report designs and processes in a clear and concisemanner.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
? Excellent SQL query skills. ? Strong data analysis and report writing skills. ? Relational and Star Schema / Dimensional database designknowledge. ? Ability to be flexible and work within a team environment. ? Ability to effectively communicate in non-technical terms withbusiness unit management and end users for information andreporting delivery solutions. ? Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. ? Ability to read, interpret and develop Data Flow Diagrams.
Required Education:
? Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, Computer Science or related field. Fouryears of related experience can substitute for the degree. ? 4 years of experience to include: ? SQL Server 2005 or 2008 relational database experience ? SQL and Microsoft T-SQL Query and Report Writing experience ? 2 year experience to include: ? SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) experience ? Data Warehouse development experience ?
