The successful candidate must be outgoing, dependable, responsible, friendly and be a team player as well as work individually at times. The successful candidate will have a want-to-work attitude, must have good boat operating skills, be able to operate the marina pump out boat, and know how to properly secure a vessel to the dock and complete all tasks required of them daily. Duties include, but are not limited to: Perform daily dock hand check list. Welcome slip owners, tenants, and transients in a manner which expresses a kind, courteous and professional character. Ensure docks, equipment and facilities are operational at all times. Inspect docked vessels such as dock lines, electrical cords, and fenders to ensure safety. Perform daily trash removal (morning and evening trash) and dispose of as directed. Perform pump outs on vessels as needed. Assist boat owners with fueling. Assist boaters with docking when arriving and departing marina. Perform daily slip inventory. Clean dock areas and maintain an orderly environment. Assist as directed with storm or hurricane preparation. Dockhands are the first point of contact that most customers have when arriving to the marina, so you must present yourself well. This position is in a great outdoor work atmosphere. Monday through Friday work week…some weekends. Applicants must submit resume or work history with references to be considered for an interview.
