Warehouse Clerk (part of R+L Carriers) 2.8 2.8 out of 5 stars Ocala, FL Warehouse Clerk is the point of contact for our customers, drivers, and WH staff, and is responsible for performing a number of warehouse administrative and operational tasks, including customer service, coordinating daily activities of the Warehouse team, maintaining accurate records for all inbound and outbound activity, and work within the WMS (Warehouse Management System) on a regular basis. Additionally, this position will be required to assist warehouse operations with order selection, pick and pack services, loading and unloading of inbound and outbound freight, operating a forklift and quality assurance. Warehouse Clerk responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following: Perform data entry, research, data analysis and reporting within the Warehouse Management System Create, upload and email Inbound and Outbound documents Assign Inbound and Outbound drivers to a specific dock Verify piece and pallet quantity for Inbound shipments Check out drivers after loads have been counted and verified Make copies and keep all Inbound and Outbound documents organized and filed Schedule daily pickups with external carriers Create, build and release orders for the order selection team, keeping orders organized and assisting with assignments to ensure all orders are completed in a timely manner Monitor system for new orders on a regular basis Verify all orders have shipped properly in the system Schedule Inbound and Outbound appointments and keep appointment records current at all times Review and respond to customer emails professionally and in a timely manner Perform quality control audits of all outbound orders prior to shipping them Work in partnership with the warehouse operations point of contact and project coordinators to ensure a fluid line of communication Verify Seal #’s Container #’s, Load #’s, Pro #’s, Reference #’s, Pallet and Piece count Distribute orders/receipts/RMA’s as needed Utilize inventory control mechanisms and perform stock checks when required Maintain accurate inventory of supplies and assist with ordering Keep accurate and effective records regarding KPI’s, processes, and equipment Assist with receiving, stocking, pulling, and staging of freight Assist with loading and unloading of inbound and outbound freight Ensure appropriate routing and distribution of freight to correct destination Operate forklift and/or pallet jack to lift, carry and transport heavy loads; perform required safety checks Inspect freight to ensure it matches bill of lading and check for physical damages, shortages and/or overages Other administrative and clerical duties and projects as assigned by supervisor/manager
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
High School Diploma or GED Previous customer service experience Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, and inventory experience Previous warehouse management system (WMS) experience Previous experience in LTL, TL or Freight Forwarding environment preferred Previous experience as a Team Lead or Supervisor preferred Knowledge and understanding of basic warehousing, inventory and shipping procedures Knowledge of OSHA requirements in a warehouse environment Ability to read and create bill of lading/manifest Ability to track and identify potential issues in the supply chain process Ability to lift and move heavy objects, some weighing up to 50 lbs. Ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently, maintaining required forklift certification Ability to maintain a clean and organized office at all times Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities, meet deadlines, work well under pressure, and maintain discretion on confidential matters while maintaining a positive attitude and providing unmatched customer service Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly and effectively communicate with both internal and external business partners Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently We empower business worldwide to ship smarter.
