Patrol club facilities and property to ensure safety of members, guests, employees and the club’s assets including property. Makes timely written and oral reports, as required. Provide assistance with fueling, docking, and safe maneuvering around the facility for members and boaters. Maintain an understanding of safe boat handling practices. Observes and enforces club safety rules and policies. The ideal candidate must have experience with customer service skills, and ability to work independently. Duties Support the operation of the marina during the designated evening and overnight hours. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the marina’s safety, cleanliness, and overall functionality after hours. Observes all persons entering and leaving the property buildings, marina facilities and remains alert for internal/external theft, suspicious persons and/or vehicles.

Dock Assistance:

Assist boaters with docking, securing vessels, and providing guidance as needed during the night. Ensure that all boats are properly tied and that dock lines are secure.

Point of Sale:

The night shift is in charge of closing and opening the register. Processing the end of day totals for booking to be able to process for the next day.

Customer Service:

Greet late-arriving boaters, assist them with checking in, fueling, and providing information about marina facilities, services, and local points of interest.

Boat Assistance:

Provide assistance with fueling, docking, and safe maneuvering around the Facility. Maintain an understanding of safe boat handling practices. Enforces all employee-related rules and regulations of club. Answers night connection telephone and assists as required. Monitors security camera system. Responds to emergency, fire alarms and break-in alarms and contacts Clubhouse Manager and/or police in the event of a disturbance. Administers CPR and First Aid, if necessary. Patrols parking lots; prevents unauthorized vehicles and people from using parking lots.

Communication:

Keep clear communication with the Dock Master and other staff members, providing status updates on the marina’s operations, boat arrivals, and any issues that arise.

Equipment Management:

Ensure that all marina equipment (e.g., pump-out stations, electrical outlets, water hookups, lighting through the facility) is in good working condition. Notify the appropriate team members of any maintenance needs. Notes any deficiencies in club’s security measures. Maintains accurate log of all security staff activities. Conducts intermittent inspections of the clubhouse, marina facilities, grounds and all other club facilities and areas. Assures that all internal and external doors are locked according to club’s policies. Is familiar with emergency 911 notification procedures. Completes other appropriate assignments made by the Dockmaster. Skills Experience in related job preferred Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations Must be able to remain alert throughout overnight shifts. Proven experience in law enforcement or loss prevention is highly desirable. Certification in security-related fields is preferred. Proficiency in operating CCTV systems and surveillance technology. Strong conflict management skills with the ability to handle difficult situations calmly and effectively. Knowledge of CPR and First Aid procedures is an asset. Military experience may be beneficial but is not required. Excellent observational skills with attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective reporting and collaboration. Strong communication skills and ability to interact with customers in a professional and friendly manner. Previous experience working at night is preferred but not required. Knowledge of boat handling, docking, and safety procedures is a plus. Frequent exposure to hot, sunny, humid, cold or rainy conditions. Working conditions are often slippery and wet. May work in nighttime conditions. Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position. Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping and pulling.
