1+ years of experience in automotive or industrial paint prep or bodywork Ability to read and interpret work orders accurately Experience with bondo filler, sanding, masking, and paint preparation Comfortable operating sanders, paint tools, and using PPE (e.g., respirators, dust masks) Ability to lift and handle raw materials as needed Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards What You’ll Do as an
Automotive Technician:
Apply and sand Bondo filler to metal surfaces to meet quality standards throughout the fabrication process Operate sanders and various hand tools to rework parts, remove defects, and meet customer requirements Mix and apply seam sealer and Bondo with hardening compounds to unwelded areas Load, unload, and organize paint racks to support efficient production flow Mask components in accordance with detailed engineering specifications Follow established methods and standards to meet or exceed quality and productivity goals Use all required PPE, including respirators and dust masks, and operate equipment safely Interpret work orders accurately to determine necessary steps in the production sequence Prepare materials and components using shop equipment such as sanders, brushes, and spray cans Maintain performance standards related to assembly, production, safety, quality, and housekeeping Inspect components to verify correct sanding, hanging, and finishing Handle and lift raw materials as required Store painted parts properly to minimize defects and maintain finish quality Mix touch-up paint to the correct ratios and ensure all paint applications meet quality specifications Prepare units for final inspection, addressing surface flaws such as chips and scratches using industrial chemicals Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors
