Responsibilities Summary This position receives, stores, and distributes food service supplies, material, and equipment within the facility. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Receives and counts incoming food items, and records inventory manually or using computer.
Packs and unpacks items to be stocked on shelves in warehouse.
Verifies inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigates discrepancies or adjust errors.
Stores items in an orderly and accessible manner in the food warehouse or other areas.
Marks stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
Cleans and maintains supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Receives, compiles, and distributes food item requests.
Determines proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.
Keeps records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment.
Examines and inspects stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
Provides assistance or direction to food service workers.
Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum Requirements High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Warehouse experience desired.
Ability to talk to others to convey information effectively. Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department. GEO Secured Services
