They are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Crating and Packaging Technician to join our shipping prep team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for building wooden crates, skids, and packaging platforms to ensure large and sensitive products are safely prepared for shipment. You will also be involved in inventory checks and work order processing, all while maintaining high quality and safety standards. This job focuses on getting products ready for shipment by building custom wooden packaging and verifying inventory accuracy. Key Responsibilities:
Build and assemble custom wooden crates, skids, boxes, and platforms for shipping heavy machinery and equipment
Verify parts and materials match the Bill of Materials (BOM) and revision specs before packaging
Ensure quality and safety standards are met for all crating and packaging work
Operate forklifts and reach trucks to move products and materials safely
Read and interpret work orders, technical documents, and measurement instructions
Perform inventory transactions, pick work orders, and complete order closeouts in system
Maintain work area and tools; inspect and report maintenance needs on equipment
Assist with occasional projects or assignments at local off-site warehouse locations
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required
2+ years of hands-on work experience in one or more of the following: warehouse, manufacturing, builder, woodworking, construction, packaging, or crate building
Ability to cut, measure, and build with wood using hand and power tools (saws, drills, etc.)
Experience operating powered industrial trucks (forklifts, reach lifts)
Familiarity with packaging large or sensitive items for shipment is helpful
Able to follow written instructions and accurately measure materials
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and a self-starter attitude
U.S. Citizenship is required
Must pass basic background check and have a good driving record Bonus Experience (Preferred, Not Required): Experience building large custom crates or packaging for heavy industrial equipment
Prior work in warehouse, manufacturing, shipping/receiving, or similar environments
Comfortable using mechanical impact tools or performing basic preventative maintenance
