Purpose of Job To perform a variety of manual tasks associated with the receiving, loading, storage, staging, distribution and proper handling of dry and frozen food products. key outputs/deliverables
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs a variety of general duties including picking/packing, loading/unloading, and proper storage and distribution of food products (frozen, refrigerated, and dry foods). Load and unload shipments and place shipments on racking systems Ensure the accuracy of each order Ensure a clean working area at all times Refer to pick reports for work orders Track and maintain inventory for all items in storage Transport pallets to loading docks and assist in unloading items Document every action on paper Perform pre and post equipment inspection daily Seal all pulled orders when necessary and apply shrinking plastic to ensure safety Operate machinery according to documented procedures/work instructions where applicable, and the appropriate quality and safety standards Advise Supervisor or Manager of any supply shortages Relieve and or assist associates whenever necessary Check, record, and report to Supervisor or Manager any problems or issues that may affect warehouse operations Fill out all relevant forms and submit to the Supervisor Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations. Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the Supervisor Must be willing to accept and receive frequent supervision. Any other duties assigned. Minimum Education and Experience High School Diploma or G.E.D. Equivalent Bilingual English/Spanish An understanding and appreciation for quality processes Must be able to read, follow rules, use simple math Electric pallet jack certification Prior exposure to Warehouse Management Systems, SAP preferably Key Competences Strong attention to detail Strong communication skills Be able to lift up to 50lbs Previous warehouse, manufacturing experience. Job Conditions Warehouse environment. Safety sensitive position due to regular interaction with heavy machinery.
Must be able to:
perform moderate to heavy physical labor (lift 30 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally). Daily walking, bending, reaching, pushing and pulling (300 lbs. with use of manual pallet jack.) Frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching. Must work in sub-freezing temperatures for extended periods of time. Some night and weekend work required .
