6:30AM -4:00PM (Mon-Thur) 7:30AM-11:30AM (Fri) Job Summary Under general supervision, is responsible for laying out designated warehouse areas, storage configuration, establish and enforce, storage policies and procedures. Responsible for enforcing all safety, security, and maintenance programs and practices within storage areas. Responsible for the accountability and safeguard, of all items of supply and equipment in warehousing areas. Responsible for a variety of operational functions in the warehousing areas such as, receiving, storing, inventorying, shipping, issuing, packaging, palletizing, and transporting supplies and equipment.

Essential Functions:

Verifies all documentation of receipt, issue, and shipment etc. and ensures the appropriate and proper distribution of the material/equipment and documentation. Verifies discrepancies and damages are properly documented and reported.

  • Receive, stock, store, pack and stack, palletize, shelve, issue, ship and label all materials and equipment in accordance with prescribed storage, shipment, and issue methods, government regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Protect all items from damage or loss. Ensure only authorized personnel enter the warehouse and escort all personnel for safety and security reasons.
  • Loads and unloads trucks and other warehousing tasks. Reviews work orders, shipping orders, and requisitions to verify correct movement and distribution of items. Inspects for damages, shortages, wrong items and other concerns; notifies appropriate person or vendor. Validates accuracy of material checked against freight bills and manifests, etc.
  • Spot checks a variety of materials on shelves, bins and various other locations utilizing a warehouse locator file. Verify the proper storage of perishable goods in refrigerated rooms.
  • Communicates effectively with units/organizations to coordinate deliveries and pick-ups, and resolve questions and issues.
  • Uses technical publications to identify material. Determines condition of non-mechanical material. Reviews inventory results, performs corrective actions, and records findings.
  • Operates a variety of material handling equipment, MHE; performs basic maintenance on MHE as required.
  • Responsible for enforcing all safety, security and maintenance programs and practices within storage areas. Maintains the warehousing areas and grounds in a clean, safe and orderly manner.
  • Assess warehouse needs and order supplies as appropriate.
Qualifications Experience:

Four years of work experience of which two years are in direct military supply. Advanced data entry experience. Must be able to complete all information on prescribed supply forms.

Skills:

Must be able to read and comprehend military publications and apply requirements to job duties. Specific positions require knowledge in handling, storage and shipment of hazardous materials. Must be able to use MS Office software (especially WORD and EXCEL).

Desired:

Proficient in the use of MS Office software. Certificate, License, Registration, etc.: Possess valid state driver’s license and obtain a military driver’s license within 30 days. May be required to possess a material handling license. Specific positions require a 5-ton truck license. May be required to obtain a security clearance and/or a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).

Desired:

Proficient in the use of material handling equipment up to a 10K forklift. Education High school graduate or equivalent (GED). Possess the ability to read, write, and comprehend written instructions, perform common mathematical tasks, and communicate effectively.
