Objective:
As a Material Handler, you will beresponsible for handling, moving, and storing various non-hazardousand hazardous materials within a warehouse and yard facility. Themain duties will include, but are not limited to, picking andpacking material, loading and unloading different transport items,recording inventory statuses, and making sure deliveries properlymatch purchase orders. You will maintain a current forkliftcertification and follow all company safety guidelines. Thisposition requires patience and steadiness, along with a teamworkmentality.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Verify the accuracy of thequantity and quality of incoming and outgoing deliveries
- -Label/Scan every product and put it away accordingly
- Identify,pull, and wrap the correct products per the customer order
- -Handle returns by completing documentation and other requiredcommunication
- Keep all material handling equipment in the bestcondition by conducting regular maintenance and logs
- Cyclecounting and identifying any inventory issues
- Communicatingissues that would include missing and/or damaged material, as wellas material that may have been pulled or received incorrectly
- Keep work areas neat and tidy
- Other duties asassigned
Requirements:
Required Skills/Abilities
- Follow allpolicies and procedures in the yard, including sales, inventory,and safety
- Participate in safety training
- Properly use andmaintain equipment
- Lead by example, with first-hand knowledge ofarea of expertise
- Works well in a group setting
- Written andverbal communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple complextasks simultaneouslyQualifications
- Forklift certification
- -Knowledge of operating other warehouse machinery
- Excellent timemanagement and organizational skills
- Critical thinking skills toquickly solve issues and/or problems
- Proficiency withprioritizing and meeting multiple deadlinesPhysicalRequirements
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds as neededthroughout the day
- Climb, kneel, reach, or bend throughout theday
- Must wear safety gear, such as goggles and gloves, whileperforming work
- Ability to operate all equipment on site asnecessary
- Able to withstand environmental temperatures.
