II. SUMMARY OF POSITION’S PURPOSE
Performs a wide variety of duties to ensure that supply/stock inventory items are maintained in a suitable manner and fills supply requisition orders.
III. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
– High School Diploma.
EXPERIENCE
– Minimum of 1 year of experience in a truck driving and/or fork-lifting capacity. SKILLS – Must be capable of operating a fork-lift and driving a truck.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
-Must be physically capable of lifting in excess of 25 pounds on a continual basis. This position requires sustained manual dexterity with close mental/visual attention and the ability to perform job functions in a standing position for a majority of the work day. This position is exposed to environmental extremes, noise, chemicals and fumes on a daily basis.
IV. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Receives, unloads and stores supplies in assigned area. Delivers materials to designated locations via warehouse vehicles. Prepares for distribution all supplies indicated on a requisition form. This task includes such items as reviewing the requisition form and preparing the orders for delivery (packing list and labels). Prepares a physical inventory of all stock/supply items and reports when stock replenishment is required. This task includes food service commodities (dry goods/frozen foods) in addition to normal supply inventory items. Loads/unloads stock and other materials to appropriate location by driving a forklift. Provides routine maintenance on assigned vehicles. Provides courteous and prompt service to all internal and external customers including students, parents, co-workers, etc.. Prioritizes and addresses requests and assignments in a professional manner to develop cooperative relationships and to ensure that student and employee records confidentiality is assured. Identifies opportunities and recommends methods to improve service, work processes and financial performance, e.g. expense management. Assists in the implementation of quality improvement initiatives. Assists co-workers in the completion of tasks and assignments to ensure continuity of service. Orients new co-workers and actively supports teamwork throughout the school system. Performs other services as required.
