Job Description
The Material Handler will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient handling, movement, and storage of cannabis-related materials and products. The ideal candidate should have a strong commitment to safety, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a regulated and fast-paced industry. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Safely and skillfully operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, hand trucks, and carts, within the cannabis facility. Handle the movement, storage, and organization of cannabis product, and related supplies, following strict compliance with regulatory guidelines. Collaborate with cultivation and manufacturing teams to accurately record inventory transactions and ensure product traceability. Receive and inspect incoming cannabis materials, verifying quantities and quality against accompanying documentation. Prepare cannabis products for packaging by following established procedures for weighing, labeling, and documentation. Load and unload products onto packaging lines and shelves, maintaining a clean and orderly workspace throughout the process. Assist in the packaging process, including filling containers, applying labels, and assembling packaging materials. Keep accurate records of inventory levels and report any discrepancies or issues to supervisors. Adhere to strict sanitation and hygiene practices to prevent contamination of cannabis products. Follow proper handling and disposal procedures for hazardous or waste materials as per regulatory requirements. Participate in regular inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure accurate stock levels. Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines. Maintain a safe working environment by following safety protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on process enhancements and potential efficiencies. Must be able to obtain a state medical marijuana badge and pass a background check Must be able to communicate with GDF Team effectively and professionally. Must perform under high pressure situations.
