Spherion is recruiting for several Warehouse Associates in Hammond, LA! In this important role, you’ll help ensure freight moves smoothly and accurately to its destination, while working alongside a supportive and experienced management team that understands the transportation industry.

Location:

Hammond, LA

Shift Details:

Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Some late days and Saturdays as needed.

Responsibilities:

Assist with shipping and receiving activities including unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders, and distributing orders for processing.
Read and follow customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, and requisitions to determine which items to move, gather, distribute, or ship.
Keep the warehouse safe and accessible for both employees and customer traffic.
Perform your tasks in a safe manner, always following safety policies and procedures.
Assemble products and assist in inventory counts when needed.
Take check calls from drivers, confirm that loads are scheduled to deliver on time, and validate load data for accounting purposes.
Monitor daily pick-ups and deliveries, ensuring loads arrive on time and in proper condition. …

8:00 AM – 4:30

PM Skills:

Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 75 pounds.
Comfortable loading and unloading trucks as part of daily tasks.
Previous dock or warehouse experience in the transportation industry is a plus.

Education:

High School Experience:

1-4 years

Qualifications:

Basic written and verbal communication skills.
Basic computer skills.
Flexibility to work varying shifts including late days and weekends, depending on freight volume.
Experience loading and unloading trailers and using handheld scanners.
