Houma, LA Position Overview:
The Material Handler conducts activities relating to the movement of primarily raw materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Determines appropriate storage location of materials upon arrival. Moves necessary resources, i.e., personnel, equipment, to offload materials. Moves excess materials from job site to inventory storage. Performs and reconciles physical inventories. Ensures the daily maintenance of all equipment by material handlers and report any problems to the maintenance department. Ensures compliance with related Quality procedures.
Experience:
Two (2) years of material handling or continuous Company experience is a similar position preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of materials used in the construction/repair vessels. Good reading skills. Basic knowledge of computer software, i.e., Windows Navigation. Good communication skills, including written and oral communication. Able to work well with others.
