Peabody, MA Job Details Full-time $21 – $23 an hour 10 hours ago Qualifications English CDL High school diploma or GED Shipping & receiving Warehouse experience Computer skills Manufacturing Communication skills Entry level Full Job Description Overview The Material Handler is responsible for the efficient receiving, inspection, storage, handling, and shipping of materials and products. This role ensures accurate inventory management, proper material organization, and timely movement of goods to support production and shipping operations. The Material Handler works closely with Planning, and Production teams to maintain smooth material flow.

Key Responsibilities:

Receiving and Inspecting Materials Unload shipments of raw materials, finished goods, and products from delivery vehicles. Inspect received goods by verifying quantity, quality, and condition against purchase orders or packing slips. Report any damaged, missing, or incorrect items to supervisors promptly. Accurately log received materials into inventory systems to maintain current stock records. Storing and Organizing Materials Store materials in designated areas, ensuring proper stacking and organization to prevent damage. Ensure all materials are clearly labeled to facilitate easy identification and retrieval. Inventory Control Maintain accurate inventory records and report any discrepancies or shortages to management. Assist with regular physical inventory counts and cycle counts to verify stock accuracy and prevent stockouts. Material Handling and Transportation Safely move materials within the facility using equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks. Load materials onto trucks or containers for shipment and unload incoming goods from vehicles. Shipping and Dispatching Prepare materials and finished goods for shipment by packaging, labeling, and organizing items properly. Assist in loading shipments onto delivery trucks and ensure materials are dispatched to correct destinations on schedule.

Skills:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Prior Manufacturing or stock room experience preferred Prior experience with warehouse, shipping/receiving/delivery Clean driving record with a valid commercial driver’s license

Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos in English Ability to read and write simple correspondence Good communication skills via e-mail and related proficiency navigating basic computer applications Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations Capable of providing direction to internal team members on process changes or issue resolution

Hourly Pay Rate:

$21.00-$23.00/hour Monday-Friday
