TRUCK LOADER
– Middleton, MA 3.6 3.6 out of 5 stars 15 Sharpners Pond Road, North Andover, MA 01845 Summary/Objective The Truck Loader position is responsible for loading and unloading American Gas Products, Inc. (“AGPI”) route trucks.. This role reports to the General Manager and has no direct reports.
Essential Functions Loading and unloading:
Truck loaders move cylinders and liquid dewars between the plant floor and the trucks, and vice versa using forklifts, pallet jacks or hand trucks. Sorting, stacking, and securing goods on pallets or containers for safe transport. Operating and maintaining warehouse machinery, including forklifts and pallet jacks. Completing paperwork for goods shipped and received. Assist with Inventory Management by, tracking the movement of full and empty cylinders in the plant, assist and maintain inventory counts and assist with monthly/quarterly inventory counts. Update load paperwork throughout the day and verified by another member of the team and turn into Distribution Manager. Adhere to all AGPI safety regulations and procedures. Collaborating with other warehouse staff to ensure efficient operations. Requirements and Qualifications Valid Class D Driver’s License. Entry level position Basic computer skills are needed for inventory management and other tasks. Good communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team. Safety Requirements Report safety hazards to safety department and/or member of management. Strict adherence to all safety policy, procedures, and rules of AGPI and its customers, including timely reporting of all accidents or injuries to Company safety personnel, HR, and management. Wear appropriate PPE as instructed and whenever in proximity to the plant floor. Refuse and report any unsafe task or operation. Participate in safety meetings and training as required; and maintain constant awareness of personal safety and that of coworkers. Physical Demands Physical aptitude for the position includes being able to stand and for long periods of time; stoop, crouch, reach, grasp, feel, climb, balance, kneel, and repetitive motion required. Ability to tighten ratchet binders frequently throughout the workday. Ability to smell. Ability to routinely lift 25 to 75 lbs., and occasionally between 76 to 100+ lbs., including loading and carrying heavy cylinders. Ability to perform laborious work including pushing and pulling liquid containers on wheels weighing up to 1,000 lbs. Ability to work in all types of weather. Ability to adapt to changes in scheduled route with minimal notice. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Expected hours of work are no less than eight (8) hours per day, but additional hours may be required. Education, Experience & Certification High School Diploma or equivalent. Previous warehouse, distribution center, or loading dock experience is preferred. Proficiency in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment is essential.
