Pay:
Starting at $22.00/hour
Hours:
Monday-Friday, 6:45 AM ~4:15 PM (Approx. 44 hours/week with 4 hours of OT; optional Saturdays)
Start Date:
ASAP We are seeking a Material Handler for a temp-to-hire position for our client, a well-established industrial recycling and metals operation located in Auburn, ME. The Material Handler will support daily plant operations by safely moving materials in both warehouse and yard environments. The Material Handler ensures safety standards are met while maintaining efficiency in equipment operation and material flow. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity located in Auburn, ME. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for: Operate equipment to move bins, materials, or equipment throughout the facility
Load and unload deliveries and customer orders with attention to safety and accuracy
Assist with routine facility cleanup and support general yard maintenance
Report equipment malfunctions, hazards, or safety concerns to supervisors promptly
Follow instructions from leadership regarding daily tasks and production priorities
Sort and organize scrap materials or debris as part of the processing workflow
Wear proper PPE at all times and attend required safety training and certifications
Maintain a clean and organized workspace while promoting a culture of safety and teamwork The ideal candidate for this role will have: High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators (certification not required; employer will train)
Prior experience in industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, or scrap yard environments preferred
Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Dependability, safety-conscious mindset, and willingness to learn
Valid driver’s license
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work outdoors, and walk on uneven surfaces
