Job Title:
Material Handler Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Material Handler to join our team in Gorham, ME. In this role, you will assist the production line by transporting materials to operators and assemblers using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment. Training and certification on forklifts will be provided in-house. You will also be responsible for helping with inventory management, completing cycle counts, and using the computer for various tasks. Responsibilities Transport materials to production line operators and assemblers. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment (training and certification provided in-house). Assist with inventory management and complete cycle counts. Utilize computer systems for inventory and material handling tasks. Essential Skills 6 months to one year or more of relevant material handling experience. Experience or comfort with using computers. Ability to communicate in English (reading, writing, and spoken). Ability to lift 50+ lbs on a consistent basis. Additional Skills & Qualifications Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing processes is a plus. Why Work Here? Work Environment You will be working in a manufacturing setting with approximately 50-60 people on the first shift. The job involves working with metal parts, cast iron, and other materials, requiring you to be on your feet throughout the shift. The dress code includes steel-toed shoes and long pants. The work hours are from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Thursday. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gorham, Maine. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 – $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
