About the Position
Operate adaptive equipment, such as lifts, handrails, ramps, etc. used to transport disabled persons. Ensure the maximum safety of passengers. Ensure seat belts are properly used and wheelchairs are tied down appropriately, as required. Ensure canes, walkers, or other assistive devices are secured properly as to not be allowed to move along floor. Follow routes as designated by Supervisor. Follow all traffic laws as they relate to passenger transportation. Responsible for the cleanliness of the vehicle, which directly affects passenger safety and comfort. Assist in loading and unloading passengers. Must have and maintain a clean driving record. Some weekend work will be required.

Preferred Qualifications
Typically requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and 1•3 years experience.
Agency qualifications:
Must possess and maintain proper Driver’s License to operate a school bus as required by the State of Mississippi, that is, CDL Class A, B, or C with P and S endorsement and Air Brakes.
