  • What You’ll Do
  • + Polish and test fiber optic cables.

+ Assemble and package fiber optic connector components. + Terminate single and multi-fiber cables. + Inspect own work using quality standards and work instructions. + Conduct tests as needed for particular operations. + Measure components using calipers, gages, or other measuring devices. + Inspect product to print. + Complete necessary operational paperwork required to maintain the traceability of product. + May troubleshoot and perform minor repairs to equipment. + General housekeeping of work area. + Follow company and department guidelines, procedures and policies. + Follow safety guidelines. + Perform all other work-related duties as assigned. + Read and perform tasks according to drawings. + Recognize common fiber connectors. + Knowledge of cleaning methods and contamination assessment for optical assembly.

Required:

+ High School Diploma or GED Required. + Working knowledge of hand tools and blueprint reading. + Available to work overtime to support production goals as needed. + Team Oriented – will work effectively and cohesively with other employees to achieve required objectives and goals. + Credibility – takes responsibility for his/her own work. Preferred:

+ Experience with manufacturing fiber cables preferred. + SAP Manufacturing & ISO 9001 experience is preferred. + Minimum one year manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Physical Demands
  • + Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards + Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

+ Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor + Must be able to move materials weighing up to 50 pounds. + Must be able to remain in stationary position 75% of the time. + Must be able to operate machinery and move between work zones.
